At a glance
During this multiday riding tour you’ll experience the remarkable landscape, culture and history of the Lofoten archipelago from horseback. Located far north of the Arctic Circle, Lofoten is a place like nowhere else on earth. Idyllic fishing villages with coloured houses, majestic mountain peaks, deep arctic fjords, squawking seabirds and scenic beaches. You’ll explore this magical environment from the back of the incredible Icelandic horses.
Riding a different route every day, you’ll enjoy five riding days with an average of 5 – 6 hours in the saddle per day and a shorter ride on the first day. This shorter ride will start at 10:00 pm. Depending on the season, this will allow you to see the midnight sun or (if you’re lucky) the northern lights from horseback! The day rides will take you, among other places, to unspoilt beaches and rocky valleys on the islands of Gimsøy and Vestvågøy. A few nights the horses stay where you finished the day’s ride while you shuttle back to the lodges, so you get to explore different areas of the Lofoten archipelago. You’ll also have the opportunity to visit the traditional Aalan Cheese Farm.
