I recently had the privilege of embarking on an authentic riding holiday in Botswana, organised by the fantastic team at Outside the Corral. I cannot express enough how extraordinary this experience was! I would like to express my sincere thanks to Outside the Corral for putting together such a unique and enriching experience. This trip went beyond a holiday, it was an immersion in the beauty and authenticity of Botswana. If you are looking for adventure, connection and memories that will last a lifetime, look no further. From our very first meeting with Outside the Corral, we felt confident with Laure-Anne. She enthusiastically shared details about the various rides, assessed our expectations and skill level. Shortly after, we received a well-thought-out proposal with several appealing destinations. Choosing proved challenging for us, as all options looked fantastic—sorry for the delay, Laure-Anne :-). Ultimately, we settled on the “Castles of the Gredos” ride in Spain—a tranquil and beautiful journey on delightful horses. Despite some days with long hours in the saddle, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It’s a form of slow travel, allowing us to set aside the “must-do” list for a week and savor moments on horseback in the stunning natural surroundings. Leading up to the departure, Laure-Anne remained highly engaged, and we truly felt well-informed—perhaps the most informed among our travel group. Thank you, Laure-Anne!

I’ve always dreamed of a riding holiday abroad. After all, with a horse you get to places you never reach otherwise. Determined to embark on this journey alone, I stumbled upon Outside the Corral. Instantly, it felt right. Their website exuded clarity and honesty, instilling a sense of trust within me. What truly resonated was that Laure-Anne, the founder, had personally experienced the destination. She had witnessed the people, interacted with the horses, and ensured impeccable organization and care for these majestic creatures. This attention to detail gave me a comforting sense of security. Before the trip, I reached out with a few questions, and the communication was fantastic. Laure-Anne shared a brief account of her own experience, fostering a sense of familiarity. It also reassured my loved ones back home. I also liked the idea that you can communicate in your own language in case something happens. There are far too many incredible moments to recount them all, but the entire experience was an enchanting tapestry. The horses were exceptionally well-cared-for, reflecting the passion and devotion of the knowledgeable duo who led our journey. And great travel companions, with whom I visited special places, saw beautiful views and had a lot of fun.

After a 10-year riding break, I made the decision to return to horseback riding at Monte Velho, and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience. The fantastic location, delicious food, and the camaraderie of the group, along with personalized dressage lessons and trail rides for each rider, ensured that I had an exceptional stay!
