The African Explorer combines four nights in South Africa with three nights in Botswana. This mixture makes the African Explorer one of the most varied African safaris, as it covers a lot of different topography and terrain, combined with excellent and wide ranging game viewing.
In South Africa you’ll explore the Waterberg Region, known for its exceptional natural beauty and therefore identified as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. In this area you’ll find South African bushveld with wonderful sandy tracks to canter along and beautiful blue dams to swim with your horse.
In Botswana you’ll ride through the Mashatu Game Reserve, Botswana’s largest private game reserve in the country’s south-eastern corner. Mashatu is home to no less than seven of Africa’s giants: the elephant, the lion, giraffe, baobab tree, eland, ostrich and kori bustard. It’s a very wild and unspoilt area, with an ancient landscape of rock formations and open plains dotted with giant Baobab trees and riverine bush.
