I recently had the privilege of embarking on an authentic riding holiday in Botswana, organised by the fantastic team at Outside the Corral. Laure-Anne from Outside the Corral paid attention to my holiday wishes from the very first moment. She took care of a proper preparation and literally took me on a journey to my holiday destination. During the entire stay in Spain, the horses and guests were well taken care of. We rode in a beautiful area with a diversity of scenery, from flat countryside, valleys to steep cliffs. We spent six to seven hours in the saddle per day and during the breaks we enjoyed delicious tapas and traditional local dishes. Lunches were lavish picnics, each day in a unique spot, in the middle of nature. Living so close to nature feels very exclusive. The experience of a Michelin restaurant can hardly compete with this. ;-) The composition of the group was amazingly good. Our group consisted of ladies, various age groups, and we interacted in a casual way. The holiday exceeded my expectations. It was truly fantastic and can highly recommend it!

What an unforgettable journey… Namibia is a place that will stay with me for a long time. Not just because of the landscapes or the adventure itself, but especially because of the way we were able to live alongside the horses: 24/7, like a close-knit herd. That brought a depth to the experience that I will never forget.

What did I take away from this ride? That horses thrive when they have a purpose, just like us. That it’s okay to let go and trust them to choose where to put their feet. And that when you truly start functioning as a “herd” within a group, you discover a strength and peace that can’t be forced.

The experience was raw, honest, sometimes challenging, but above all magical. It’s not the kind of adventure you can plan, it’s the kind you create and make possible, and that’s exactly what Outside the Corral enables. Thank you for making this adventure possible. I feel so grateful to have been part of it!

My first riding holiday was a huge success. First and foremost because of the beautiful location in Portugal where I spent some fantastic days. Laure-Anne’s helpfulness and enthusiasm leading up to the trip are certainly also worth mentioning. In the meantime, I am already making new plans and I am sure that next time I will leave on a riding holiday with an easy mind!
