At a glance
Located in the heart of the Umbrian countryside, amongst lush rolling hills and verdant valleys, Reschio is a 3,700-acre ancient pastoral estate with a fascinating story to tell. The estate was bought in 1994 by Count Antonio Bolza. In the 28 years since, Count Bolza’s son, London-trained architect, Count Benedikt, and his wife, Donna Nencia Corsini, have set about beautifully restoring 28 of the 50 ruins on the estate. The result is a dazzling, ancient hotel characterised by world class service, a bespoke interior design and a high level of privacy. The gorgeous estate, the numerous in-house facilities as well as the gorgeous surrounding Italian countryside are yours to enjoy in a tailor-made, fairy-tale stay. This is a place designed for both the romantics as the intrepid adventurers!

The stables of Reschio, launched by the founder Count Antonio Bolza in 1999, are home to some of Italy’s finest, most highly skilled dressage horses. Dressage lessons, wild hacks across the estate and early evening dressage performances will introduce you to these magnificent creatures, regardless of your riding level. All riding activities are private and tailored to the preferences of each guest. You can ride as much or as little as you like! The cutting-edge indoor and outdoor Equestrian Centre and Theatre offers multilingual instructors who know just how to introduce young novices to the joy of riding, as well as encouraging the more experienced on to bigger and better things, including the fine art of dressage. Or head out on a guided hack through the wilderness. Wind in your hair, birds wheeling above, wild boar snuffling in the undergrowth... it’s wild!

Both for riding as non-riding guests a plethora of experiences is available to enjoy the unique setting of Reschio to the fullest. Playing a game of tennis on Astroturf courts, relaxing at the exclusive Bathhouse SPA, having a swim in the heated pool just outside the castle walls, exploring the estate on high-quality bikes (incl. electric bikes), fishing, truffle hunting or wildlife watching with a local expert are only a few of the available in-house activities. Interested in mastering the renowned Italian cuisine? The Reschio cookery school will lead you on creative foraging walks in the grounds to pick what takes your fancy, show you how to create a variety of dishes, and transform the best of the local produce into scrumptious Italian meals. For further exploration, the spellbinding towns of Assisi, Arezzo, Cortona, Gubbio, Perugia and Siena are all located within an hour’s drive of the estate. Reschio is the right place to do plenty or nothing at all.
